Hello All (or is that both? Not sure how many of us are left here!)

Thought you might like to see me enjoying myself last Friday taking the SZ around Bedford circuit:

I had actually been having dark thoughts about selling the car, but had so much fun on Friday that those thoughts have been well and truly banished!

Hello Steve,

Well I was trying quite hard - but equally i'm hardly Ayrton Senna!

It's the first time I've not had the brakes overheat on track and so once I was confident that the car would slow me down I could concentrate on my driving and I have to say it's the most fun i've had for ages.

I think I need to look at your seat mod though as with a helmet on I need to either recline the seat way to much or sit leaning over which is far from comfortable. 2 inches lower would be ideal.

Regards

Philip

Nice picture Cool

I'm having a sedate drive around Mallory Park on Sunday, not as good as your full on blast but it'll be nice all the same...and my first time on track!

P.s. That's three of us Wink

Breakfast club at Goodwood tomorrow.... more of a meet, eat and chat but fun all the same...

The seat mod is well worth doing even for normal driving Phil, you feel much more connected with the car..

Regards
Athos

Hello Steve (other Steve this time)

I havent been to a breakfast club meeting at Goodwood for at least a year. I see however that the October one is Italian themed, so I could be tempted to get up early on Sunday 6th October - might you also pop along?

As for the seat mod I'm pretty keen to give this a try. So i'm a pretty regular build 5ft 11in tall guy - would I be able to reach the pedals?!

I guess you simply remove the sliders from the bottom of the seat and then bolt the seat back down from underneath the floorpan?

Cheers

Philip

Hi Philip,

If the weather is good then sure, it would be good to meet up!!

I removed the seat runner and bolted the seat to the captive nuts in
the floorpan.
The holes in the seat line up exactly with the nuts... I used allen bolts
and it is a bit fiddly under there but when done what a difference!

I also am 5'11'' and the pedals feel the perfect distance away.

Perhaps wait until October and give mine a try first, or you are more than
welcome to pop over and try it.

Regards,
Steve

Well if your 5"11' it should be all OK... Sounds easy enough if a little fiddly.

I'm currently travelling a lot on business, but when I get some free time I think i'll give it a go.

I'll stay in touch re the breakfast club.

No Problem Steve. There were 3 SZ's there including mine and a host of wonderful machinery.

By the way, do you still have your SZ?

With three others there I am sorry I didn't make it!

I had a very good offer but in the end I couldn't let it go...

Regards,
Steve
