A little improvement:
Fitted my 18 inch Azev A rims, 8.5J et30
Had to fiddle a little with special spacers to a) not hit the Tar-ox front brakes and b) fill the wheelarches at the rear.
Better looking than the original rims or not? What's your opinion?

They do look very good...but are they better than the original? Not sure, as I love the split rim wheels

Touché!
Split rims are not my favourit ,all those little bolts make the design look 'fuzzy' in my opinion. (but must say, the 18 inch remake of the original speedlines does look the business on an SZ ! )

Hi Frank - I like them! Nice to see an SZ with something a bit different other than the traditional split rims.
Cheers

Just found one of your posts on the AlfaBB site, did you end up buying the Japanese car or get this one from Europe?

@zag; this is all a matter of personal taste off course.
As said earlier; your 18"remakes look very good on the SZ (the size that is) but for me the design is too 'fuzzy'with all those bolts...
@philip; Thanks, I think its refreshing to see a different set of wheels on an SZ.
@wrinx; No I didn't buy that Japanese car. After that weekend in March I couldn't get in touch with the seller anymore (no response on my emails) so my guess was that the SZ was allready sold...
I also discovered that it had 'trophy' history btw.
My 044 came from it's first Dutch owner. He ordered the car in 1990 (had an Alfa dealership at that time) and left it unregistered untill 1998.
(this is a little trick to avoid very expensive Dutch import taxes )

Hi Simon,
Thanks I'm very happy with it!
Eh sundaynight> that's the soccerlunacy you mean?Sorry, none of this for me ...
Why not give all 22 idiots a ball for themselves so they won't have to fight for that one?

Another thing that bottered me; when I want to work under the hood I constantly bumped the back of my head against the 'scudetto'.
Simply because of it's stand not being long enough so the hood is hanging just above your head when servicing or inspecting the engine...
So I had to find a easy way of extending it without doing any harm to the SZ's original design.
I fixed an extension (about + 0.5M in length) onto the original stand which can easily removed by loosening one hoseclamp and a tywrap.
Pics:
Of course this is not the easiest thing to use when you do a quick check at a petrolstation during travelling, but I think it can while you do an oilchange or similar jobs.

I did the same before replacing the timing belt recently, there was no way I could work under there without raising the bonnet!
I might cut it in half and make in insert so it can be kept in the car, but not it's just on the wall next to the car when needed

Can't believe I only found out about this site yesterday...
I've had my black RZ, number 264, since 1998.
It had ~5k km when I bought it, around 78k km now, and was my daily driver for several years.
More or less standard, it has a different chip, de-cat stainless steel exhaust, and upgraded front brakes - all done by Autodelta.
