|

My right side window wouldn't go up and down anymore and even after spraying the windowrubbers richly with lubricant it still didn't move an inch.
So I opened up the door to see if there was a cable broken of something but I couldn't find anything.
I pushed the down-button on the switch and hit the electric motor a couple of times with a spanner and it suddenly came to life. The window went down slowly.
After that I sprayed the rubbers some more with lubricant and put it up and down about 20 times. It isn't fast, but it would do I thought.
5 minutes later it was stuck again, so I think the electric motor has to be changed...
Is this the same as in the Alfa 75 and can I change it without screwing up the alignment of my window? I just want to remove the motor and put a new one in or get this one repaired if possible.
Is there someone here who has done this job before? |

Eper (2008) says the motors are p/n 60509543 (SN) and 60509542 (DS) with only the SN being available in 2008.
But interestingly the motor is shared with Alfa 164 (front AND rear doors):
(ALFAROMEO) - K0 164 (1987-1992)
(ALFAROMEO) - K2 164 TURBO BZ.(1987-1992)
(ALFAROMEO) - M9 "S.Z." (1989-1991)
(ALFAROMEO) - R3 "R.Z." (1992-1993)

(SN) and (DS) means sinstra and destra, or left and right.
this means only the left is still available?!
Maybe only the carbon rods of that motor have the be replaced. |

Yes, but as my Eper is from 2008 I bet it's now not possible to order one at all.

Nothing is available I noticed.
But with some luck I could buy a complete mechanism New Old Stock from a specialist in the Netherlands!!!
I bought it last friday, took the afternoon off and got it in the car the same afternoon.
So it works again!!
I am getting my old one refurbished . Only the electric motor is gone, the mechanism still looks like new.

It isn't difficult, just be carefull with removing the trim.
Those plastic plugs can break and sometimes have broken in the past.
But just follow the steps from the technical handbook and you'll be fine.
If you don't have the handbook, let me know, I can scan some (not all pages for you. |

I took both my door panels off this summer to clean and condition the leather properly - what a pain, I'm never doing it again. You need double-jointed fingers and wrists and the patience of a saint... |

Yes, you have to have flexible wrists
But it is possible if you take the time and do it right. |
