Hoping for some owners tips on this one...

Oil level was a little bit low (still ok though) in the suspension reservoir when I bought my SZ, so topped it up to the line.

No problems since then until the other day. After a "spirited" drive in the hot weather I noticed some dripping behind the rear wheel. Looks like oil has been forced into the thin overflow pipe which exits in the wheel arch.

Is this normal? Do owners deliberately run the oil a bit low to stop this...or do I have a fault?

Also...do you store your car with the suspension up or down?

Are you sure the oil is leaking from the overflow pipe you mentioned?

I alway store the car in the down position.

I'm making sure I do the same now Smile

Not 100% sure about the drain but I can't see it coming from anywhere else...hasn't happened today so perhaps it's found a natural level Laughing

Hello Wrinx, sorry for the somewhat delayed response... My reservoir always stays about 3/4 full. I seem to remember when I first bought my car that I found some oil leaking from the overflow, but in typical fashion I just ignored it for a few weeks and it seemed to settle down to its current level.

I also keep the car stored in its down position - in fact it's very rare that it ever goes up.

Cheers

Philip

There is a big speedbump next to my house so I always have to 'conquer' that in the high position.
But I think the system should be used now and then, to prevent problems.

Unfortunately (or fortunately?) the system is used VERY regularly round here Confused To get in and out of our drive needs the suspension to be high and the run to work has several nasty humps Sad

Damn things!
