There is a new SZ model in the market in the scale 1:24.
Nice model with opening doors, hood and trunk.
A must for us, of course
Its made by Quattroruote Hachette for the Centenary serie.
For sale in Italy or on Ebay.

Yes, seen these on Ebay but didn't know who made them, what's the retail price in Europe?
It looks very good, but...full size spare wheel?

I wish the bootlid would open that far in real life....
To be honest I'm not that enthousiast about this model.
Of course, if it is low priced you can't complain and it will be a nice addition to other Sz stuff.
I hope that in future a company like Autoart or Minichamps will release a 1:18 model of the SZ.

I have here the 1:18 Autoart Alfetta gtv 2.0> the details on this model are really amazing. It's even more detailed than a 1:1 car...
Well, fingers crossed for an 1:18 SZ model.

If that's true then the prices are definitely inflated...the ones on ebay are €50-60

I'll keep an eye out then, although the strong Euro and shipping prices means they are still a lot...ah well

Today I received my models and I am quite happy with them.
The original salesprice of the model and the booklet in Italy are 20 Euros.
On ebay the go for 30 to 50 Euro's for the model alone but I was able to buy 4 model / booklet sets for 35 Euro's apiece, including shipping.
First impression is very good. Red paintwork is okay but the roof colours is just black instead of grey / anthracite.
Yes, the sparewheel is not good, the interiour colours are quite wrong (ao. black carpets and doorcovers), the colours of the lights and reflectors is quite off and on 2 out of 4 models a rearview mirror was broken off but hey, nothing that a drop of glue and a litte paint can't solve.
My main dissapointment is the roof. It is a 1 piece plastic item onto which the rearspoiler has been plastic "soldered".
Also happy to see that most of the parts can be unscrewed (except the lights and engine sections) so a little detailling and optimization is possible.
If someone wants to have a more detailled big model you can only hope to snap up an old ToyCraft Berg model or wait for the 1/18 models of Exoto that are being released the comming months. Expect to pay more than 400 Euros for the latter (SZ and RZ models will be available).
So overall, I'm very happy with the models and don't mind that my Italian seller made a little money on them.
greetings,
Robin. |

I am checking Ebay every now and then. There was a seller that had 8 of them for sale at a Buy Now price of 27 euro's. I decided to look around first, but that was stupid. They are gone now, and the others offer one car for 50 euro's ex shipping.
I just bought one for 35 Buy now, shipping is 14, so total is almost 50 euro's. But I just couldn't wait any longer
But I'd really like another one. |

Hello you all,
new info has come up on the Hachette model and it is slightly different from what I wrote previously.
The model by QR / Hachette is based on a very early prototype and several things I wrote as being wrong are correct after all.
The black door cards and the spare wheel are correct as can be seen in the accompanying booklet which includes the original test of the prototype by QR.
Thanks you know who for correcting me.
Anyway my first model has been detailled into my own car and my daughter likes it very much already. My wife and she agreed that it will become her car when she turns 18 (and after passing her driving test succesfully). So it seems I have to detail a second one for myself.
greetings,
Robin. |
