All,

Currently have the stock Brembo disks with Tarox pads on the front and rear brakes (stock SZ wheels as well). What is the most popular upgrade option for these brakes? GTA 3.2 discs and calipers on the front or APRacing? Who supplies the APRacing setup?

Thanks,
Phil Gicante

Hello Phil,

You are not happy with the current brakes?
Still not good enough?

There are other options, but if you have standard SZ-wheels there is a problem with space.

Do you have steel brake-lines already? That can help a lot.

i have the big second series gta brakes and they fit the 16 inch wheels.
the gta disks must be machined to open up the center hole to fit our hub.
the adaptor for the calipers was made in south afrika by barry.

All,

Will be fitting the stainless brake hoses tomorrow (Canada day!!!). All the upgrade options (AP etc .) sound very expensive and probably a few years out.

Regards,

I have the uprated Brembo 4 pot calipers, disks and pads on my car along with Dot 5 fluid and stainless steel brake hoses. On the road the brakes are good, but on the track they just get too hot and after a few sessions I find my brake pedal just disappears! Embarassed

The last upgrade I did was to have hoses directing air from the front bumper to the calipers - I haven't been back on a track yet to see how effective this is, but hopefully it will keep things a bit cooler.

Regards

Philip

Are the stainless brake hoses available anywhere?
Are they the same as for the Alfa 75?

I want those too, but don't know where to buy them.
The big (expensive) brake upgrades are not really necessary for me, I think. I will do the brake hoses and will try other pads.
Then it will be good enough I hope!

Are the brake-pads for the SZ the same as the Alfa 75 3.0 V6 pads??
I am looking at Ferodo DS200 or DS2500, but the Alfa SZ is not in their list.

Okay, I ordered the Ferodo DS2500 to try them out.
I hope I will receive them next week so I can put them on.
I will also put on the braided steel brake hoses at the front and change the brake liquid.

RZ,

Do you have the Part Numbers for the GTA Series II calipers and rotors? It sounds like two modifications are required

- maching the rotors/disks to fit SZ hub
- adapter for the calipers

Can you provide more information of the adapter?

Thanks,
