|
|
Washed my car at the weekend and noticed for the first time that the 2 outermost lights are faded.
The passenger side one also has a chip on the inside of the light (I can see the piece of glass inside the light)
At some point soon I will get the invitation to have the car road tested and I'm pretty sure it will fail with these lights.
Anyone seen any for sale recently?
If you see any ebay ads etc please post a link here.
Many thanks

Hello Simon,
you might give Eduard van de Beek a call or mail him.
If anybody has such lights or knows where to find them it is him.
Alternatively he might also be able to supply the glasses for them. On his website you can see the procedure to replace them.
greets,
Robin. |

Is the glass replacement a difficult job? |

take out the headlight;cut off the silicone from the glass and voila, the lights can be cleaned and put back together.
no costs |

Ed had those glass-replacements cheaper a year ago, but I do not know if he still has them.
The complete light-units are very expensive (the outer ones), so these glass-replacements are ideal for us.
I wonder how much it will cost to let a glass-company make a series of these things. They can simply make moulds and pour some I think. |

I just bought the glasses on ebay you posted RZ. Thanks.
What type of silicone is used to restick the lenses?
Hi Harry, when I receive the lenses I might take them along to a glass manufacturer here and ask about the costs for a small production run.
Thanks for your help guys.

Okay, great idea!
They look pretty simple, but I could be mistaken. |
