What colour is your airfilterbox?
My car is #042 and the lower part is black, while the upper part is silver.
I found this picture for car #013 and this one is also in black and silver.
When did Alfa Romeo change this?
Almost all cars have an all silver airfilter box, so probably just the very early cars had it in black and silver?

Harry I looked through my photo files of other SZ's and all the early SZ's upto number 46 I have underbonnet pictures of (and that have not been modified) have a black lower part of the aircleaner unit.
The earliest SZ with an all silver aircleaner is number 066. All SZ's in my pictures with higher buildnumbers have silver undersides.
So I guess you might be right in your statement that probably all the very early SZ's have a black underside which was changed to an all silver version for the later cars.
Does anybody have more detailled info on cars between number 046 and 066 for a more acurate determination when this change was effected ?

Thanks Robin!
Interesting cars these SZ's!
So we need to find cars between number 46 and 66 to find out exactly when this change was made. |
