I had some problems with spambots (scripts/computers that make fake users to create fake messages).

I have to delete them manually and don't come here every day, so please understand that it sometimes takes some time before things are deleted.

I deleted 80 fake users and added an extra step in the registration.
I have to acknowledge new users before they can post here.

Thanks Harry. I'm glad you keep this site running, even if there is not a lot of traffic I still find it very useful for talking SZs.

The fake users keep being created. Every day about 10 new ones.
But I do not activate them, so they cannot spam the forum.

But a real new user can get problems with this. if that is the case : please send me an email. Harry@alfasz.nl

Also this week about 50 new members, haha. Most of them added their own website.
All have nothing with the SZ.
Harry, is it not better to accept only SZ owners here ??
You can easy to control that on your registration form and also on Ed's site.
The most members don't have an SZ and if they have another type Alfa, there are a lot of other forums everywhere.
Also, I see always the same 5 to 10 members that will post here.

@Cees : I can only use the things this free forum offers. Every new user has to type over some letters in a box, so spambots cannot automatically create users.
After that all users are created, but still not allowed to post on this forum, because I will have to grant access to every single user.

So I've got maximum security now, but I cannot stop them from creating users that cannot do anything here. Just hope they notice their users are useless.

Deleting all these users is a lot of work sadly.

Okay Harry, I don't knew that. I thought you could create your own rules here for registration. Unfortunately not.
